We are a full-service accounting firm located in Elmvale and we are looking for a dynamic candidate to join our team as a full-time, permanent technician/senior staff accountant.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Preparation, overseeing and managing: review and compilation engagements
- Identifying and resolving engagement issues
- Identify and cultivate new planning and service opportunities for clients
- Supervising engagements and related tax filings within a paperless office environment
- Training and mentoring junior staff on engagements
- Preparation of personal, corporate and trust income tax returns and other required filings
- Research and income tax support
- Year-end planning for various companies
- Ensuring client satisfaction with firm’s services and providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds clients expectation
- Managing CRA personal and corporate income tax audits and appeals
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge
- Five or more years of progressive public accounting experience
- Advanced understanding of accounting policies and audit techniques
- Ability to add significant value to our small to medium clients
- Advanced computer skills in CaseWare, Caseview, professional tax programs, QuickBooks, QBO, Xero, and cloud base programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks
- Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge
- Excellent leadership, communication and analytical skills
- Client oriented
